On Christmas morning, on very

On Christmas morning, on very short notice, Liz came to our apartment to help us say goodbye to our beloved dog, Percy. He had suddenly declined after we learned he had congestive heart failure, along with kidney disease. Despite everything we tried, his heart rate could no longer be controlled. We were devastated and heartbroken.

From the moment she arrived, she was incredibly kind, calm, and compassionate. She spoke so gently to Percy as he drifted off, telling him what a good boy he was, and treating him with so much dignity and love. She reassured us that we were making the right decision, which meant more than I can put into words in such an unbearable moment. She offered us as much time with him as we needed, then took Percy away in a very respectful, dignified way.

She later sent us the most beautiful handwritten letter with a sweet illustration on the front. She said that’s how she imagined Percy in his prime. That gesture will stay with me forever.

Losing Percy was so hard, but I am deeply grateful that his final moments were peaceful and filled with kindness. I will always be thankful to Liz for the care, empathy, and humanity she showed our family on one of the worst days of our lives.
