GOOGLEDOG’S LAST GIFT My beautiful girl ended her life-journey with my family this February, a few days after Valentine’s Day. Her passing was peaceful and beautiful. Google had been fading for over a year, and both she and I fought as hard as we could, but a time came when I knew she was now fighting just for me. We contacted a very special service called ‘Bowwout’ and veterinarian Liz helped Google to pass peacefully in my arms, at home in her own bed. My wonderful friends were here with me, I was with Google, and Liz was with us all. She is calm, loving and very kind. We were grateful to be in her hands. The only thing that existed was the love and peace in the room. Google was all that mattered. She had some sedation and there was plenty of time for tea and hugs as it settled in, helping Google to be relaxed and comfortable during the final assist. I was stroking Google’s ears as always.  My parting gift from Liz arrived by post a week later. She sent me a beautiful card with a ceramic GoogleDog paw print impression. Thank you to Liz who made our last few hours a beautiful thing. Thank you to my wonderful friends who supported us so bravely and kindly. Thank you to Dad who will mind her now, and Mum who will meet her for the first time. And thank you GoogleDog for being the best dog, friend, protector, carer and accomplice that a girl could ever possibly hope for.
